#1 The Root Chakra - color red

Location: The root chakra is at the base of spine and the perineum.

The root chakra is associated with the spine, legs, feet, colon and the adrenal glands

Gland: Adrenal

Areas affected: Spinal column, kidneys, stress responses, feet legs, and anus.

​

Element : Earth.

Purpose: It represents grounding to the physical world and survival/self-preservation. (warmth, food, safety) or will to live, security and family. It is the foundation of our security.

​

• When this chakra is in balance, we feel grounded, secure, stability, stillness, prosperity, physical health, a sense of safety and security, and being present in the moment.

​

•  When this chakra is in excess, we become lazy, overweight, and hoard objects. Conversely, when we have too little, we can become unclear of our purpose, are flighty, distracted, underweight, confused, distracted, fearful, insecure, and lose objects frequently.

​

Oils for Root Chakra help keep you grounded in the present, releasing anger and other deep seated emotions.  They are grounding and earthy and are often from trees that contain very deep roots.
