THE CHAKRAS
Chakras are the seven energetic centers that energy moves through in the body. They’re each connected with different organs and functions in our mind, body, and spirit. If you start at the bottom (the root chakra), you have the lowest vibrational frequency – and its qualities mirror this. It’s concerned with the very basic elements of existence – primarily with your safety and physical survival. As you move up the chakra system, you go from the more fundamental emotions to the deeper feelings of joy, love, and creativity.

What are Chakras?
They are energy points or channels that give life and vitality.
Chakras are actually vortexes of energy- spinning wheels. Healthy Chakras spin clockwise. Chakras are thought to each spin at a different rate or frequency.

We have hundreds of Chakras but typically talk about 7 of them. They process emotional matter. For the physical body to be healthy, it is important for the Chakra to be open, balanced and in tune with the other Chakras. The Chakras extend out of the front and back of the body. The back part of our chakra system is not often discussed. The back charkas differ from the front in two major ways. The front holds the present and the future as well as current symptoms of function / dysfunction. The rear holds the past as well as the cause (genetics, past experiences etc.) The front holds the logic and the limitations of the human plane. The rear holds limitlessness and freedom from earthly constrains.
When one chakra is blocked there is an imbalance of energy and that results in illness and poor health.

Each of us are made up of a bio - magnetic energy field. When we interact with other people we are interacting with their energy system and their thoughts and feelings. If you are a sensitive person you may find your energy becomes depleted. You feel tired, anxious and generally not quite right. If you interact with other people, or use public transportation you may find that you are overwhelmed due to all the energy round you. These feelings exist when we experience a lot of negativity and when its experienced on a regular basis we have imbalance that can lead to physical, mental and emotional ill health and exhaustion.
When these energy centers are healthy and open, so are we–physically, emotionally, mentally and in our relationships with ourselves and others. But when they are blocked through injury, illness, or disconnection from others, we are blocked from being our best selves and can feel frustrated, stuck and lack of vitality.
Throughout childhood and through our life experiences, we often create constrictions in our chakras. For instance, if we received criticism for our singing repeatedly, we might close down our fifth chakra (throat center), limiting our creative expression or ability to speak up for ourselves.
Traumas, fears and ‘negative’ experiences can lead to long-term imbalances in your energy system that then manifest into challenges like insecurity, anger, stress or dis-ease.
A ‘block’ is a place where energy is trapped or constricted. In dealing with a block, you need to get the energy moving.

There are numerous ways to counter the imbalance that can occur in our body’s chakras. These include Reiki, crystal healing, essential oils, yoga, massage, sound healing, reflection and meditation.

In my practice, reiki, crystal healing and essential oils are used to balance out each chakra.
